Join us for an intimate garden party and house tour with Richard Brown, AIA. This Northwest Style home was originally designed by renowned Portland architect Pietro Belluschi in 1949. The house sits adjacent to a stream in a lovely 2-acre garden.  Richard Brown updated the home with an additional wing and kitchen renovation that incorporates the details and materials of the original design and accents the beauty of this mature garden. This project received a Portland American Institute of Architects (AIA) Citation Award.

Hope Telford will interview Richard Brown about his experience adding to a home designed by another beloved Oregon architect and his long career in the Portland architecture field. You can enjoy wine and light hors d’oeurvres in the garden and tours throughout the house.

Event is co-hosted by Telford+Brown Studio Architecture and Longplay Wine. All proceeds go to AFO to fulfill its mission to support Oregon’s quality of life and create awareness of our designed environment through education, engagement and inspiration.

COVID: All eating/drinking will occur outdoors. Event attendance is capped at 20 people for safety. Indoor tours will be masked and conducted in small groups.

Accessibility Information: Parking is on-street. Outdoors the ground is fairly even, and the garden paths are graveled. The house is a split level, with a sunken living room, so not all areas may be fully accessible for those with mobility issues.

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. Please describe any accessibility concerns or questions in your registration form or email [email protected]
